Requirement & Training schedule for Lyon Township Fire Department.

The Lyon Township Fire Department Training Recommendations for Firefighters and Officers are:

That you be 18 years of age
Hold a Valid Michigan Operator's License

Receive prior to or after employment:

  • Firefighter I & II Certification
  • Emergency Vehicle Driver's Training
  • Medical First Responder/CPR/AED Technician
  • Blood Borne Pathogens
  • Hazardous Materials-Awareness and Operations Level Training

For Officers In addition to the above Fire Officer Training.

Our members are in training continually through out the year in house and with surrounding
Fire Departments for:

Updates in CPR/AED
Search and Rescue
Trench Rescue
Ice and Water Rescue
Vehicle Extrication
Mass Casualty
Aircraft Rescue
Gas and Electrical Emergencies
Fire Scene and Truck Operations
Continuing Medical
Hazardous Materials
and others as deemed necessary by the Department
