1. How do I get a reflective address sign?

2. How often should I change my smoke detector battery?
If you use alkaline batteries in your smoke detectors, change them twice a year. A good time to do it is when the clocks change for the seasons. If you have lithium batteries in your smoke detectors, they only need to be changed every ten years.

3. Do all smoke detectors have batteries?
Most smoke detectors do, however some older models were wired directly into your homes hard wiring and did not have a battery backup. Newer homes (within the last 10 years) have hard, in-circuit wired smoke detectors with battery back-ups for power outages.

4. Should I keep a fire extinguisher in my home?
If so, where? Yes, we recommend at a minimum, one should be kept on each floor of your home. They should be kept in easily accessible locations, not buried behind the trashcan or in a closet somewhere. To have one on site but not accessible is worse than not having one at all. It is important to have one on each floor of your home. If a fire is between you and your escape route or you and a child, you have it nearby, rather than just in the kitchen or garage.

5. Where can I get extinguisher(s) or smoke detector(s)?
Most hardware stores have them (Ace, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Aco, etc.) as well as Target, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Kohl’s etc.
